About
The Author
Greetings! My name is Jay. I’m a twenty-something software engineer from the Philippines. I currently work in Japan for a company specializing in transport systems for semiconductor companies. Although I am experienced in a variety of software languages and tools, the breadth of my field has given me little time to explore the intricacies of any individual language.
During my free time I do stuff normal twenty-somethings do. I read, hang out with friends, listen to music, and play games. I smoke - a habit I am trying hard to quit, and drink in moderation. Living in Japan has enabled me to speak Japanese (my third language, aside from English and Filipino), and although I can be a bit lazy to study proper grammar at times, can speak with reasonable fluency in ordinary situations.
I love good music, especially songs that emerged during the 80’s and 90’s, and on occasion, like to practice playing guitar, not that I’m any good at it. I also enjoy sports a lot, and play basketball and tennis regularly.
I was recently engaged to my girlfriend, who currently lives and works in New Zealand. We are currently making preparations for our wedding, and despite the difficulties of being far from each other, and being away from the wedding site, are trying hard to get everything ready on time.
The Biggest Adventure
The blog is a collection of my experiences, travels, and random thoughts. It is an informal written record of all my achievements and successes, my hopes and dreams, and my travails in my journey through life - my biggest adventure.
What others may call an ordinary life, I like to consider my adventure. Each significant step, each unusual experience, each resolution I make is a step in my journey.
If you have a few minutes to spare, join me in my journey and let’s travel life together! If something catches your eye, consider dropping me a line or two to let me know.
